Missouri man facing multiple DWI charges

Authorities report that a 55-year-old St. Louis man who is facing DWI charges was taken into custody shortly after 10 p.m. on March 20. It was alleged that the man had ten previous driving offenses related to driving on a revoked license when the most recent incident occurred, and police stated that they plan on filing charges against the man through the Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Police from the Arnold Police department said that one of their officers observed that the man, who was operating a vehicle with license plates that were expired, was traveling near the intersection of Tenbrook Road and Jeffco Boulevard. Police then pursued the man and pulled him over close to the Arnold Crossroads complex.

Reports say that an officer offered the man a breath test, but he allegedly declined to participate. Police then detained the man on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a license that had been revoked. He was booked at the police station but was released until warrants could be issued.

Although the man in this news release faces a tough DWI case in court, he may benefit from the help of a lawyer who has experience in Missouri's DWI laws. For example, the police said that they suspected the man was intoxicated; however, there were no reports to indicate that officers conducted a field sobriety test after pulling him over, and reports did not include any description of physical signs of intoxication. A lawyer working with the man could question the apparent lack of evidence in court in an effort to have the charge dismissed or have the penalties lowered if a conviction occurs.
